The Social Investment Forum is the national forum for social investment and finance intermediaries (SIFIs).

Working together as a network of SIFIs, the aim of the Forum is to co-ordinate policy and practical work to improve the way the social investment market works for all concerned.

Big Issue Invest

Big Issue Invest (BII) is the social investment arm of The Big Issue. Our mission is to back sustainable social enterprises and ventures that help tackle poverty and inequality.

We help scale up social enterprises and charities throughout the UK by providing loans and investments, not grants, from £50,000 to £1 million. BII can also work with partner social investors to provide finance above £1 million.

The CDFA is the trade association which supports and represents community development finance institutions (CDFIs). CAF Venturesome provides affordable financial support to charities, social enterprises and community groups when grants may not be available and access to traditional financial institutions is difficult. We offer financial support of between £25,000 and £250,000.

City of London Corporation

The City of London Corporation has established a £20m fund for investment in activities that produce both social and financial returns.

The City of London Corporation Social Investment Fund is overseen by a Social Investment Board and managed by City Bridge Trust. The Fund aims to achieve a positive financial return and demonstrable social benefit.

Esmee Fairbairn

Esmee Fairbairn has pioneered social investment as a grant-making foundaiton. In 2008 we launched our social investment fund, the Finance Fund. With a target commitment level of £35 million to reach a draw down of £26 million the Finance Fund is a "social impact first" fund that invests in charities, social enterprises and intermediaries with the objective of generating a financial return alongside a positive social impact.
